Join us on our mission in
tackling the greatest
challenge of our time

About us

DeepPlants originated from the collaboration of scientists from La Sapienza University in Rome, whose expertise ranges from Machine Learning and Computer Vision to Physics and Mathematics.

Our mission

Our mission is to aid individuals, institutions and companies to tackle Climate Change, recently becoming the greatest challenge of our time, by developing Deep Learning technologies for mitigation and resilience

Collaborations

We actively collaborate with the vertical farm Agricola Moderna (AGM) to create a deep learning unsupervised model for quantifying healthy and stressed plants before harvesting. Some of the research with them can be found on the research page.

We have also published on Hugging Face the AGM dataset: The dataset includes 972,858 images, each with a resolution of 120×120 pixels, covering 18 different plant crops grown in the vertical farm AGM under artificial light.

We are currently collaboratively developing a new dataset, that encompasses various species. We aim to provide this dataset to all researchers in the fields of plants, climate change, and agriculture, enabling them to train deep semi-supervised and unsupervised models from classification to segmentation. We warmly welcome contributions from anyone interested.
